Fall Foliage Cruise 2011
Cruise on the Carnival Glory -
Sept. 2011
The cruise group: Marcia Landau Levy ’53, Barbara Pecker Title ’53, Larry Premisler ’54 (and wife Bernice), Marvin Goldberg ’55 and wife Sheryl Shapiro Goldberg ’56, Harvey Rodgville ’56 (and wife Helene), Bob Parke ’56 (and wife Ruth), Merle Rubin Hecker ’56, Marty Weinstein Alpert ’57, Dotty Studley Sanford ’57 (and friend Wendy), Lydia Fife Kugel ’60 (and husband Larry), Jaynee Wall ’64 (and husband Rich).
Port of call were Boston, Portland ME (a lunch of clam chowder, steamers, and lobster rolls) St. John’s, NB seeing the Bay of Fundy and it’s tides. And then Halifax – went out to historic Peggy’s Cove and then around the city itself. Halifax has many memorials to the Titanic since the city was involved in harboring the rescued, opening homes to families from the U.S. searching for their loved ones, and finally, burying the bodies as they were pulled from the sea. The cemetery has a hill dedicated to the lost of the Titanic. A truly memorable trip thanks to Marcia Levy who worked on this for more than a year.
We reaffirmed that no matter what we do or where we go, Madisonians always have that special feeling for each other – and our school. Lots of “…do you remember…?” A most enjoyable time! ...

JMHSAA at Brooklyn Cyclones
BALLGAME
Last summer, more than 100 alumni got together at Cyclone Park in Brooklyn to see the Brooklyn Cyclones play the Staten Island Yankees. Beforehand, we met at Nathan’s for the best hot dogs and french fries in the world. We are planning to do this again next summer since it was such a success and we’ve had many requests to repeat.

JMHSAA at Greenwood Cemetary, June 2011
GREEN-WOOD CEMETERY
This past June, alumni gathered at the historic Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn – in 98 degree heat (which, unfortunately, discouraged some from attending) – and took a trolley tour (air-conditioned) around the cemetery. It was a great experience seeing the Civil War museum and the graves of the soldiers from that time, and the burial places of the famous and infamous. After the tour a group of us went out to dinner to cap off another great experience.
